RFIDX in action
Saffron Walden County High School is justifiably proud of its reputation as one of the leading sixth forms in the country.
The sixth form study centre and library is a satellite of the main school library. Since the introduction of 3M Tattle-Tape strips book loss has reduced dramatically.
Inger Madsen, Manager of the Study Centre explains. “We were keen to centralise class sets of books to allow easier access by students. Unfortunately, large numbers went missing, with the result that departments wouldn’t participate.
As soon as the 3M Detection System was installed, books were released
from all departments to the library. Our students now feel better resourced,
can access them all the time and are therefore more motivated to study.
Now we use funds to expand our resources rather than replace them”.
